I was inspired by Starbucks for this drink and I figured that I could make this at a fraction of the price since I had all the necessary ingredients! Best part? I know that everything that went into this drink was 100% natural and low in sugar. I've made a few batches of this so far and one of my friends inhaled this drink the last time she came over. Definitely a very fruity and refreshing drink to cool one down during the current hot period!
The recipe below makes for about 1.5 litres.
Ingredients:
- 1 litre of green tea (you can use Japanese or Chinese green tea, whichever you prefer)
- ½ lemon, juiced
- 2 tbsp honey
- 100g frozen strawberries (about 1 cup)
Method:
- Mix the green tea with the lemon juice and honey.
- Blend the frozen strawberries with a cup of the green tea lemonade. You should get a smoothie of sorts.
- Pour the smoothie into the rest of the green tea lemonade. Stir and serve.
You can see from the photo above that I added yuzu into my mocktail as well. However, I found that it didn't really add any distinct flavour so you need not add it in. If you want to turn this into a cocktail, I would recommend adding more honey and then mix in a white liquor such as vodka or soju into it. If you'd like it bubbly, sparkling wine also mixes well. Enjoy!
